See why Chelsea might not qualify for the UCL round of 16

After the last set of games in the UEFA Champions League, we see Man City a team with 9 points already qualified for the round of 16 but Chelsea with 10 points are yet to qualify and must not lose against FC Porto or hope Maccabi wins Dynamo Kiev



According to Uefa Champions League permutations

Bayern Munich: QUALIFIED (as group winners)
Olympiacos: STILL IN THE HUNT (need a draw against Arsenal, can
also lose 1-0 and 2-1)
Arsenal: STILL IN THE HUNT (must beat Olympiacos by two goals, or
a victory margin of 4-3 or higher)
Dinamo Zagreb: KNOCKED OUT (cannot qualify for Europa League)


Chelsea: STILL IN THE HUNT (need a draw against Porto, can lose if
Dynamo fail to win)
Porto: STILL IN THE HUNT (need to beat Chelsea, or hope Dynamo
fail to beat Maccabi)
Dynamo Kyiv: STILL IN THE HUNT (need a win against Maccabi)
Maccabi Tel-Aviv: KNOCKED OUT (cannot qualify for Europa League)


 Wolfsburg: STILL IN THE HUNT (need a point against Man Utd, can
lose if PSV fail to beat CSKA)
Manchester United: STILL IN THE HUNT (need a win to guarantee
their place, can draw if PSV draw or lose against CSKA, can lose if
PSV lose)
PSV: STILL IN THE HUNT (a win guarantees their place, can draw if
Man Utd lose to Wolfsburg)
CSKA Moscow: KNOCKED OUT (need to beat PSV to qualify for
Europa League)


 Zenit St Petersburg: QUALIFIED (as group winners)
Gent: STILL IN THE HUNT (need a win against Zenit to guarantee their
place, can lose if Valencia fail to win)
Valencia: STILL IN THE HUNT (must beat Lyon and hope Gent fail to
beat Zenit)
Lyon: KNOCKED OUT (cannot qualify for Europa League)

PSG: QUALIFIED (as group runners-up)
Shakhtar Donetsk: KNOCKED OUT (need to match or better Malmo's
result to qualify for Europa League)
Malmo: KNOCKED OUT (need to better Shakhtar's result against PSG
to qualify for Europa League)


Benfica: QUALIFIED (a draw will see them finish top of the group)
Atletico Madrid: QUALIFIED (need to win at Benfica to top the group)
Galatasaray: KNOCKED OUT (need a draw against Astana to qualify
for Europa League)
Astana: KNOCKED OUT (need to beat Gala to qualify for Europa
League)


Juventus: QUALIFIED (a draw will see them finish top of the group)
Manchester City: QUALIFIED (need to beat Gladbach and hope Juve
lose to top the group)
Borussia M'gladbach: KNOCKED OUT (a win at Man City guarantees
their place in the Europa League)
Sevilla: KNOCKED OUT (need to beat Juve and hope Gladbach fail to

This means that Manchester still might be the only English team to qualify for the round of 16. If that be the case, then EPL might lose the 4th slot given by UEFA due to dwindling coefficients.
That says a lot for a league that keeps saying it's the best in the world
