Di Maria has some not so good things to say about Real Madrid

I am still yet to get over the fact that he looks like the guy from Slumdog Millionaire. For someone diminutive and thought as soft spoken, he sure knows how to metaphorically hit below the belt

Spot the difference

In a recent interview with BeIN sports, the lanky player was asked about his time at Real Madrid. He recalled with some fondness, his last days at the club. The Champions League final in Lisbon where he was named man of the match
"After winning 'La Décima' my mind was set on staying at Real Madrid for many more years, but these things happen in football".

He was also quick to point out that the clubs trophyless run coincided with his departure. Wheb asked about the club's lack of major silverware last term:
"Since I left Real Madrid haven't won anything. In any case, I think that I left at the right time and the right way"

As much as he was loved in Spain, he claims that the fans in France have shown him much more love.
"They (Real Madrid) are very demanding. The club has won a lot and the fans are used to success. You get more affection from the supporters here in France".

Mr Di Maria, if football never works for you, just know that Dev Patel could do with a body double
